Said the month-to-month, room-by-room rentals next door are tearing the neighborhood apart — three longtime neighbors considering moving — and raised safety concerns about unvetted occupants near children; urged proactive action before uses are grandfathered.

A father of five, he said strangers drinking and smoking around bonfires have made him uncomfortable letting his kids bike the street, and noted many rental apps lack Airbnb's vetting.
